ERASMUS is an EU program that enables European students to study abroad. The program not only promotes in-depth study, but also intercultural skills. The academic achievements are generally recognized, and financial support makes it easier to cover additional costs. ERASMUS promotes not only individual development, but also a European sense of community through intercultural exchange, language improvement and the development of international networks. Overall, the program offers a unique opportunity to enrich one's studies and appreciate the diversity of Europe.

The Erasmus+ Program

A stay abroad not only enhances your CV, it also broadens your horizons, improves your language skills and helps you build your own international network. It is an enormous personal and career asset.

That is why the European Union launched the “European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students” (ERASMUS for short) in 1987. The program enables European students to spend part of their studies abroad, thereby not only promoting individual development but also a sense of community. The 27 member states of the European Union, the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, as well as Turkey, Serbia and Croatia, are involved in the ERASMUSprogram.

 

All information about the ERASMUS program:

To study abroad with Erasmus+, you must be enrolled at a state-recognized higher education institution and be studying for a degree that leads to a recognized academic qualification. In addition, your intended period of study abroad should be relevant to your academic goal and personal development.

The opportunity to study abroad is open to both bachelor's and master's students, as well as doctoral students. However, if you want to study abroad during your bachelor's degree, you must be at least in your second year of study.

Your study abroad program lasts a minimum of 2 months (or one academic term) and a maximum of 12 months.

 

The following services are included in the program:

  • EU internship contract between the university, company and students
  • Recognition of the services provided abroad
  • Option to receive an Erasmus + grant to help cover your travel and accommodation costs
  • Support in preparing for your stay abroad
  • Participation in a preparatory ERASMUS intensive language course
  • Support during the internship from a contact person at the home university and in the company

 

 

The ERASMUS program currently supports study abroad in 33 countries. These include the 27 member states of the European Union, the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, as well as Turkey, Serbia and Croatia.

The Erasmus+ Interrail Pass is a six-month pass valid for participants who travel by train during this time their Erasmus+ experience. The pass was created to fulfill the current priority of the Erasmus+ program: the environment and the fight against climate change. It addresses the needs of international students by reconciling their desire for more sustainable practices with their attitudes. The pass has also been developed with the innovations presented in the Erasmus+ program guide. With a view to 2024, implementation for mobilities starting in the fall of 2024. To meet the objectives of the Erasmus+ program and the needs of students, there are two types of passes:

● Four travel days within six months prior to travel
● Six travel days within six months prior to travel

Both the youth and adult versions of this pass are available in 2nd and 1st class. Youth passes, which are 25 % cheaper than adult passes, can be purchased by travelers under the age of 28.
