Study Organisation

As an FHM student, you can use all Office 365 apps for free. The login details for Office 365 and your university email address will be sent to the email address you provided in TraiNex at the start of your studies. If needed, visit the university's IT support center for help.

To access licensed content, such as the FHM online library, from home, you need a connection to the FHM network. You can request the login credentials for the VPN client here .

FHM's online library offers a wide range of digital media, such as eBooks and digital journals, that you can read and borrow, supplementing the physical library. This is done through FHM's partner publishers. To access the online library, log into TraiNex and go to the "Learning" tab, where you'll find the "Library" section. Off to the eLibrary.

Public libraries, as ZLB (Central Library Berlin) has venues in all districts in Berlin and is free of charge or has a reduced annual fee for students. You can also register yourself at the libraries of other universities in Berlin. To get a discount, don’t forget your student ID.

Inside tip: Always study from reference books.

Each study group has a student group representative who is your first point of contact. The group representative is elected during the first session with your designated lecturers. Each study group also has a responsible lecturer who is there to assist you in any cases. The group representatives meet monthly during the trimester with other group representatives in a joint meeting. Please make sure to gather topics beforehand that should be discussed in these meetings. If you need further assistance from FHM staff, your first point of contact is the secretary's office, located on the first floor at the beginning of the corridor.

Offers and FHM Network

The program includes seminars on a wide range of topics, from application training to SIP preparation and tips on how to study well. As part of the My Science - Our Society lecture series, speakers from practice, e.g. from SMEs, the healthcare industry or internationally active family businesses, show how to put what they have learnt into practice, give valuable tips for starting a career and provide interesting insights into everyday working life.

If you would like to do an internship or study abroad, please contact the International Office for individual advice and support.

Thanks to the FHM's extensive corporate network, excursions and guest lectures take place regularly in cooperation with our network partners. These contacts provide a wide range of opportunities for internships and these in companies.

Whether for internships, working student positions or starting a career: it is worth taking a look at the job offers in TraiNex.

In the alumni network, exchange and contact between former and new students offer an enriching atmosphere. After you graduate, you will continue to benefit from the advantages of the FHM network, continue to take part in the FHM events and receive a 5 % graduate discount on our master's degree programs.

Campus Life

Smaller campus festivities take place every year with the odd surprise, drinks and, above all, good humor! And we also want to make campus life colorful between the festivities, with beach parties, summer festivals or sports activities. Do you have an idea for an event or an excursion? Start your own initiative and feel free to contact us!

In addition to one of the trendiest kebab shops in Germany, called "Rüya Gemüse Kebab" (300m from the FHM), there are also numerous Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurants and much more within just a few minutes' walk. If you would rather buy a coffee and a roll, there are also many cozy cafés here.

There is also a large refrigerator and two microwaves in the FHM student kitchen if you want to heat up something you have brought with you. There are also two drinks machines there.

  • Station: Ernst-Reuter-Platz, where the U2 subway line (towards Pankow/Ruhleben) stops.
  • Bus Stop: Ernst-Reuter-Platz, where buses M45 and 245 stop.
  • Both stops are just a few meters away from the entrance of FHM Berlin (Ernst-Reuter-Platz 3-5)

There is no trimester ticket at FHM Berlin.

You can buy tickets for public transport like bus, train, subway or light rail in the “BVG application” in your app store. For that you can also use the “DB (Deutsche Bahn) application” and could subscribe to the “Deutschland Ticket” abonnement that makes it possible for you to use every public tranfer (except ICE, IC and FlixTrain) for 49€ per month.

The BVG and DB app are available for IOS and Android.

It is advised to look for an apartment 3 months before coming to Germany. The housing market in Berlin is difficult, and it needs a bit of time and lots of housing visits. Please be prepared for this, Berlin rental companies love to see personal portfolios about the person who is moving in, about your financial situation, if you have anyone funding you, etc.  There are several online platforms worth checking regularly. We recommend checking the following: "WG-Gesucht," ImmoScout, Ebay Kleinanzeigen and inberlinwohnen.de
